  1. My Sister you will be truly missed by ALL. Loved you much. Sunday School will not be the same without you. 🩷
See you in that great getting up morning.

  2. Jill was a phenomenal woman of God. She truly leaves a legacy that we all can be proud of and strive for. See you later, Jill.

  3. Jill truly had a vibrant, joyful and encouraging personality. She was a great influence and participant in our Sunday School Class. I think we all keep looking for her to walk into our classroom. When she commented on the lesson she would always use a scripture reference. She will be missed and never forgotten.

Revelation 14:13 And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.

  4. Jill, such a shining light and beautiful soul! My heart is saddened and will miss her tremendously. Her inspiration and kindness was rare and genuine. I am so Grateful and Blessed for how you brighten my day at every encounter. Your Sunday School Inspirational Comments were Rich. My Prayers, Encouragement and Love to Jiles and Family. Rest in the Lord! Heaven gained an Angel. 😇

  5. Sis Jill was such a bright light. I never saw her not smiling. She will be missed. I will especially miss her in our Sunday School class. Her devotion to her Son and God is something to be celebrated. Rest in the Lord.

  6. Jill you have been an amazing human ❤️ living your purpose and being a beautiful example of God’s creation. Miss you deeply and our human hearts hurt. May we be reunited in heaven 🙏

  7. I don’t even know where to start when speaking about Jill. I’ve known her since I was 5 years old. She and my mom, Erika, attended UTA together, and she (and my Meme) were my mom’s introduction to Zeta Phi Beta. My mom joined Psi Zeta chapter, and Jill has been family ever since. I grew up knowing her affectionately as “aunt” (even though she desperately wanted me to be “sis” through Z Phi B. LOL) She even became one of my mentors as I ended up going to UNT Denton for Broadcast Journalism. When she came in my life, I didn’t realize I knew a legend; an icon within the community. I’m so blessed my mom crossed paths with such a genuine person. I wanted to try and make this as short as possible, and this is only scratching the surface. I now live in Los Angeles, CA, to continue on my broadcast media/journalism journey, and won’t be able to physically be there to pay my respects. To hear about Jill literally shifted my entire world, almost as much as my Meme’s (her other soror) passing did in 2017. She will be sorely missed and never, EVER forgotten. Her legacy lives on through her amazing son who we all know will go on to do great things. Job well done, Jill. I love you forever! I’m forever thinking of and praying for this sweet and dear family. May God wrap you in His arms, cover you and comfort you during this time and forever more. You have one of God’s best Angels.

  8. It is heartbreaking to think of a world without Jill in it. She was an enthusiastic supporter of not only her son, but of all the students in our Terrell choir program. Jill stepped up anytime help was needed with grace and humility. I enjoyed her sense of humor and never hesitated to sign up if I knew I would get to spend a few hours with her. We were already talking about how much we would miss her presence in our school groups next year when Jiles graduated because she was so important to all of us. It’s hard to believe we won’t see her smiling face, always making sure to sit in the best spot to get the pictures and videos of our kids (pictures that she always made sure to share if I couldn’t be there). I know she was strong in her faith, and I take comfort in knowing that she rests with the Lord – but she will be sorely missed.

  9. Sis. Jill, you will be missed tremendously. I will miss your smiling face and your witty sense of humor. Thank you for writing the parenting book. I will continue to implement those strategies into my parenting. We will make sure that we continue our relationship with Jiles. You did a phenomenal job with raising him. I love you.

  10. Dear Sis,

My deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathies are with you and your family during this difficult time. My prayers are that God gives you strength, peace, and comfort in the days ahead.

You are truly a remarkable woman — great, smart, intelligent, and highly respected. Your dedication and service to the community over the years have touched so many lives. The work you have done through your newspaper has been outstanding and inspiring. It has informed, uplifted, and brought people together in such a powerful way. Your publication is truly one of the best our community has ever known.

Please know that your labor, your voice, and your impact have not gone unnoticed. The community appreciates you deeply and stands with you in love and support.

May God continue to cover you and your family with grace, comfort, and strength.

    Love you Always
    Bluuu-Phiii

  12. love being a freind of M.s Jill Darden. communications strategist and journalist Terry Allen said Darden’s work helped define the role of community media in North Texas.

“Jill wasn’t just a publisher — she was a builder of people and a protector of our stories,” Allen said. “She had a steady, intentional way of making sure our voices were heard with dignity and truth.”

Allen, who shared a long-standing personal friendship with Darden, said her influence was both professional and deeply personal.
