  1. That’s a beautiful and heartfelt tribute, Heather. If you’re looking to polish it slightly while keeping your authentic voice and emotions intact, here’s a refined version you might consider:

    To Ms. Ardeth,

You took me under your wing when I first started at THR — you were my work mama. We’ve been through so much together in these 20 years. You stood by me through two marriages, the birth of my three beautiful kids, and even the heartbreak of losing my daddy. Through it all, you held me down.

You always kept it real with me — 100, no sugarcoating — and I’ll never forget that. Your wisdom, your strength, and our conversations will forever live in my heart.

I know you’re looking down on us, still making sure we’re all good. I guess now I have to keep Janae close — you know how we get when we cut up! But I know she’ll have my back, just like you always did.

Tell my daddy I said hi. I can already picture him and Uncle Michael up there barbecuing for everybody, just like old times.

I love you, Ms. Ardeth. I’ll miss you forever and a day.
    One love, always —
    Heather Norwood
