Ronnie Mitchell was born on September 16, 1968, and peacefully transitioned on June 15, 2026, at the age of 57.
Ronnie was a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend whose life was defined by love, service, and compassion. His greatest joy was his family, and he never missed an opportunity to tell those he loved how much they meant to him. To Ronnie, family extended far beyond blood, and strangers were simply friends he had not yet met.
A lifelong football enthusiast, Ronnie played football in both high school and college before dedicating many years to coaching Little League football, mentoring young athletes on and off the field. He also had a servant’s heart, generously donating blood for many years to help provide lifesaving care for children and others in need.
Ronnie faithfully served Tarrant County Juvenile Services as a Juvenile Probation Officer for 30 years before retiring. His passion for helping young people led him back to work as a Case Manager with Lake Granbury Youth Services at Rite of Passage Youth Organization, where he continued making a positive impact.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph Coleman, Sr. and Dorothy Mitchell; his brothers, David C. Mitchell, Ralph Coleman Jr., and Marvin Johnson; and his sisters, Yolanda K. Mitchell, Catherine Tiller, Phyllis Marshall, and Belva McDonald.
He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Angela Mitchell; his children, Coleman Mitchell, Clayton Mitchell, and Chelsea Mitchell; his daughter-in-law, Amya Mitchell; numerous brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and a host of friends whose lives were forever touched by his love and kindness.
Ronnie’s legacy of faith, service, generosity, and unconditional love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Me and Ronnie first met as opponents on the grid iron in high school he played at Dunbar, I played at Western Hills. Who knew years later we would end up as teammates and friends in college. Mitch, Ron, or Fort Worth as his friends would call him. He was a gentle gaint of a men and friend (off the field 😀 )
It saddens me that we lost him so soon. I pray that God’s Holy Spirot will comfort his family as they deal with the lost of their beloved Husband and father.
