Marilyn Maxine Fitzgerald Marilyn Maxine (Wright) Fitzgerald entered into eternal rest on April 27, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born in Centre, Alabama, to Millard Odell Wright and Vivian Adelle Stubbs Wright, both of whom preceded her in death. Marilyn was one of three children and grew up with her brothers, William Kenneth Wright and Richard Jeffrey Wright. While living in Germany, Marilyn met the love of her life, Kenneth Scott Fitzgerald, during his service in the United States Army. The two were united in marriage on August 10, 1973. Together, they raised three children: Michael Chevron, Rebecca Jeannette, and Lisa Nicole, and built a life marked by love, laughter, and unwavering commitment to family. Throughout her life, Marilyn worked in a variety of roles. She spent more than a decade with Texas Instruments in Temple, Texas as both an Electronics Assembler and a Materials Handler. Her professional journey also included positions with Walmart, Foley’s, WIP Inventory Services, United Parcel Service, and PRG Schultz. She also served as a childcare provider, nurturing and guiding young children with patience and care. In the final decade of her career, Marilyn found her calling as a home health aide, providing attentive and compassionate, care to individuals in need. She approached this work with kindness, dignity, and genuine concern for the wellbeing of those she served, leaving a lasting impact on the lives she touched. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of fifty-three yeas, Kenneth Scott Fitzgerald, who passed on January 13, 2025. Marilyn leaves to cherish her memory her children; Michael Chevron (Floydine), Rebecca Jeannette, and Lisa Nichole, her grandchildren; JE Thomas III, Precious Thomas, Jordan (Nagy) Fitzgerald, Michael Fitzgerald II, Justus Fitzgerald, Ja’ Niyah Thompson and her greatgrandchildren; Jaleya Hopkins, Za’Kari, Hopkins, and Demani Hopkins. She is also remembered fondly by her siblings Richard Jeffrey Wright, Bernadetta Nutall, and Michelle Williams (Kedrick) along with numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who loved her dearly. Marilyn’s life was defined by her devotion and commitment to family, her generosity of spirit, and her unwavering strength. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew her.
