I worked with Vanessa for 8 years. I knew her as a tireless advocate for people facing very difficult challenges medically and financially. She always had a sense of humor and never got cynical after fighting countless battles for people who felt powerless and dehumanized. She helped thousands of people and saved many lives by getting them access to medical treatment and out of homelessness. I am praying for her children and family.

was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Vanessa Ousley, co-founder of Under1Roof, a remarkable individual whose tireless efforts helped transition countless families out of homelessness. Vanessa’s unwavering dedication to supporting those in need of medical and legal services has left an indelible mark on our community, and her legacy of compassion and service will continue to inspire us all.

In times of sorrow like this, we often turn to scripture for comfort and guidance. One passage that comes to mind is Psalm 34:18, which says, “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” Vanessa’s work was a testament to this truth, as she dedicated her life to being a beacon of hope for those who had lost their way.

To Vanessa’s family and loved ones, please accept my deepest condolences during this difficult time. Know that you are not alone in your grief, for our hearts are joined with yours in mourning the loss of such a remarkable soul. Vanessa’s spirit and her incredible contributions to the community will live on in the countless lives she touched and transformed.

My thoughts and prayers are with you, and I know that the community she served is also holding you close in their thoughts and prayers. May you find strength and solace in the memories of Vanessa’s kindness, her dedication, and her unwavering commitment to making the world a better place

We trust there is hope in Christ and that Vanessa has found it. If our lives are surrendered to Christ, we will find the gain of heaven promised in scripture when it says to live is Christ, but to die is gain. Seek Christ while He may be found so that when your time comes to leave this earth, you can leave Earth with the peace that passes all understanding for the gain of an eternal relationship with God.
