Our loving mother Gloria Jean Scott, known for her kind, caring and spunky personality, transitioned on January 29, 2025, at the age of 74. She was a treasured Wife, Mother, Grand’Mere, Gigi, Grandma and Friend. Mom’s presence will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Born on December 21,1950, in Canfield Arkansas, Gloria Jean Scott was the child of Chester Reynolds and Annie B. Marshall. Throughout life, mom was known for her kindness, compassion, tenacity, strength and zest for life. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her smile could light up any room. Mom was a retired letter carrier from the United States Postal Service, who was adored by many. Her patrons loved visiting with her and often waited for her daily. If she wasn’t on her usual route for any reason, her patrons would call the station inquiring of her whereabouts. Her love for nature was vivid as she spent her days watering her plants and flowers or walking the neighborhood with her dear friend Susan. She devoted her time and energy, caring for and creating memories with her husband, children, grandchildren, loved ones, family and friends.
She is survived by her husband Melvin, daughter’s Crystal Farmer (Robert), Nicole Montgomery (Brian), her grandchildren Jordan, Zion, Kody, Reign and Tatum, her aunt Lillie Pearl Bookman, her siblings Emma, Catherine, Dorothy, Kathleen, James, Yvonnda, Evelyn and a host of nieces, including special niece LaWanda, nephews and many more family and friends, including The Holland Family and Theresa Wade.
Gloria was preceded in death by her parents Chester Reynolds, Annie B. Marshall and sister Rosetta Robinson.
