Marvin Fuller was born on September 2, 1937, in Hearne, Texas, to Cameron and Kittie B. Fuller. As the fifth of thirteen children, Marvin learned early the importance of love, unity, and togetherness. Growing up in a large family shaped his deep devotion to family-something that remained at the very center of his life.
He graduated from Blackshear High School in 1957. Following the sudden passing of his father, Marvin remained in Hearne to help support his family. A few years later, he moved to Fort Worth, Texas, determined to build a future and provide for the love of his life. On June 11, 1960, Marvin and Melloniece Greene were united in holy matrimony. To this blessed union, four daughters were born.
Marvin had a love for automobiles. That passion led him to General Motors in Arlington, Texas, where he faithfully worked as a body shop assembler and forklift driver for 34 years until his retirement. In addition to his career, Marvin co-owned and operated a gas and service station with one of his brothers. After that venture closed, he opened Fuller’s Garage, where he spent mornings before reporting to General Motors and weekends repairing vehicles for friends, family, and customers. He continued his work here after retirement as well. His honesty, integrity, and unmatched work ethic earned him the trust and respect of many.
Marvin’s commitment to Christ became a defining part of his life when he was baptized in Arlington Lake in 1961. As a devoted member of Mount Horum Missionary Baptist Church, he faithfully served as an usher and as secretary of the Adult Men’s Sunday School Class. His quiet strength, steady presence, and servant’s heart were evident in both his church and community.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Zelma Wills and Annie Hinderman; and his brothers, Preston Earl Fuller, Doyle Fuller, and William Fuller.
He leaves to cherish his precious memory his devoted wife of 65 years, Melloniece Fuller; his son, Carl Nowlin; his daughters, Cheryl Smith, Sandra Fuller, Vicki Brumfield (Leon), and Marva Fuller; his grandchildren, Chaval Amalbert (Antone II), Corey Fuller (Katrina), Tiffanie Williams, JaBrian Graham (Tracy), and Hilari SimmonsTaylor (Arion); and his great-grandchildren, Antone “Trey” Amalbert (A’Maiya), Vallyn Amalbert, Trinity Amalbert, Milton Yates II, Brooke Fuller, Zuri Williams, Harper Graham, Zahar Williams, Marvin Graham, and Nova Mae Simmons Taylor. He is also survived by his siblings, Cameron Fuller, Bobbie McKinney, Jewel Fuller (Ruthie), Vera Wallace, James Fuller (Ruby), Raymond Fuller (Thelma), and Herman Fuller; his brother-in-law, James “Bone” Williams Jr. (Earline); along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Marvin’s life was a testament to faith, family, hard work, and unwavering love. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
