Alice Lonita Hayes Capers
May 18, 1957 – June 2, 2025

Alice Lonita Hayes Capers, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on June 2, 2025, at the age of 68. Born on May 18, 1957, Alice was a proud native of Fort Worth, Texas. She attended Fort Worth ISD schools and graduated from Polytechnic High School, where she made lifelong memories and friendships.

At an early age, Alice accepted Christ and was a youth member of Mount Nebo Missionary Baptist Church in Fort Worth. Her love for the Lord was evident through her inner light and her strength to face all that life sent her way.

Alice lived life on her own terms. She was bold, loving, and full of joy. Her laughter could light up a room, and her quick wit and great sense of humor left everyone smiling. Alice had a gift for making people feel special, and her presence brought comfort and fun wherever she went.

She was preceded in death by her dear mother, Mamie Nita Hayes; her father, William Henry Hayes, Sr.; two brothers, Sullie Ray Holbert and William Henry Hayes, Jr.; and her sister, Caroline Jean Tunson.

Alice leaves to cherish her memory her loving son, Marcellous DeMarrio Hayes, Sr. (Holly); one sister, Mary A. Johnson (Greg); and one brother, Richard E. Hayes (Laura). She is also survived by her treasured grandchildren: Marcellous DeMarrio Hayes Jr., Catrina Jene Hayes, and Zhevel Lenise Hayes. Her legacy lives on through a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss her dearly.

Alice Lonita Hayes Capers will be remembered for her resilient spirit, her boundless love, and the joy she brought to those around her. Her memory will forever live in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
