Delores Woods was born November 9, 1952, in Timpson, Texas to Mary McClendon Myles and Solomon Lancaster and would be the eldest of her siblings. Delores was raised by Fred Allen Jr, her stepfather, and were all a family.

Quiet in spirit, Delores loved her family and took pride in her grandchildren. Always there to help them. Affectionately known as “Honey”, she was warm and loving to all she met. During the holidays, Delores was head chef frying turkeys for everyone.

Delores met and married Leonard Evans, to this union 3 children were born. Later she met and married Mark Woods.

Delores accepted Christ at a young age. She grew up in the Church of the Living God PGT where she sung in the youth choir and served in the junior girls mission. She late join Victory Temple Church. When her health wouldn’t allow her to attend church in person, she was a Faithfull Listener every Sunday to Uncle BW McClendon service online St James Missionary Baptist Church, Austin, Tx.

Delores graduated from Dunbar High School. She was very studious student and earned many awards. Her technology skills were above reproach and she excel in that area. She could figure out anything. She further her education at TCC in Mircobiology. She worked at Abbott Laboratory for many years until her retirement. After retirement Delores began working partime at H&R Block as a Tax preparer, she was excepitional employee and earned her awards for her work.

Delores is preceded in death by her mother Mary McClendon Myles, father’s Fred Allen and Solomon Lancaster, stepfather Billy Myles, brother’s Rickey and Solomon Lancaster Jr, grandson Trenton Evans, Grandparents LeRoy and LeOra McClendon and Fred and Beatrice Allen.

She leaves to cherish her life and legacy her children Karen Lemons (Frank), Keithan Wayne Evans and Karlette Rushton. 14 grandchildren Thomas, Tiffany, Treshell (Chris), Samuel, Solomon, Ryan, Taylor, Tyra, Keiana, Keithan Jr, Markeitha, Brandi, Brandin and Kailand, 20 great grandchildren, silblings Marilyn Allen Carter(Charrles), Oklahoma City OK, Sheryl Lynn Allen, Houston, Tx and Kevin Allen, Step brother and sister Tonya and Fred Allen III all of Fort Worth, Tx , Sister-in-Laws Lajuana Lancaster and Patricia Crosby Houston, Tx, Two chosen sisters Barbara Taylor and Ann Johnson, a Special Friend Allan Johnson, aunts, Stecca Deal, Mildred McClendon and Morreen Singleton; uncles, Roy Ear McClendon (Sandra), Dr. Billy W. McClendon (Bernetta) and Samuel Lancaster; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
