Alma Lee Sims was born on March 13, 1938, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Richard and Henrietta Sims. From an early age, she embraced her faith, receiving Christ as her Lord and Savior at Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church under the guidance of Rev. C.C. Carson.

Throughout her life, Alma exemplified devotion and service. She married Clint Walker and the two remained one, until his demise in 2000. She became an integral part of the Soul Winning Team at New Mount Carmel Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor R. A. Toliver. She loved her Pastor and her church family, lending her voice to the adult choir and contributing to the Women’s Mission Ministry.

Alma earned her bachelor’s degree in physical education from Texas College in Tyler, Texas. Her career included roles in Human Resources with the City of Fort Worth, years of dedicated service as a substitute teacher in the Fort Worth Independent School District, and ultimately, she concluded her professional journey as a computer technician at Tandy Electronics.

Alma was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Clint Walker, her parents, Richard and Henrietta Sims, her brothers Henry and Fairlee Sims, her sister Ella Mae Sims, and her stepdaughter Yalonda Thorpe.

She is lovingly survived by her only son, Theodis Sims and wife Anna of Fort Worth, Texas; her brother Gerome Sims of Sacramento, California; thirteen cherished grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of beloved nephews and nieces.

Alma Lee Sims-Walker leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, and unwavering dedication to her family and community. She will be profoundly missed and forever remembered.
