Fort Worth, TX – James Henry Harden, Jr., a devoted husband, loving father, loyal brother, and esteemed friend, peacefully passed away on December 8, 2023, at the age of 74. Surrounded by his beloved family, James transitioned to eternal rest, leaving behind cherished memories and an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him.

Born on May 22, 1949, James was a proud African American whose legacy will forever inspire generations to come. His unwavering dedication to his family, faith, and country was evident throughout his remarkable life. With a high school diploma in hand, James fearlessly served his country as a valiant soldier in the Army. His commitment and sacrifice were recognized with the prestigious Purple Heart, a testament to his bravery and resilience.

James will be lovingly remembered by his adoring wife of 52 years, Parthenia, who stood by his side through thick and thin, sharing a bond that will endure for eternity. His children, Marzette, Elitta, and Kimberly, brought immeasurable joy to his life and were a constant source of pride and inspiration. James’s legacy will also carry on through the lives of his devoted brothers, Sidney and Ricky, who shared a lifelong brotherhood filled with endless support and treasured memories.

A celebration of James’s remarkable life will be held with a Funeral Service at the Community Christian Church “Disciples of Christ” on December 21, 2023, at 10:30 am, preceded by a Public Viewing at Tree of Life Funeral Directors, LLC. on December 20, 2023 from Noon – 5:00pm.

A cherished time for friends and loved ones to come together, will be held on December 20, 2023, at 7:00 – 8:00pm at New Vision Christian Church, where stories and memories of James’s vibrant spirit will be shared, fostering comfort and healing.

A Graveside Service, honoring James’s military service, will take place on December 21, 2023, at 1:00 pm at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, located at 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX 75211. It will be a moment of reflection and gratitude for his selfless dedication to his country.

James will forever remain in the hearts of his family, friends, and all those who were fortunate enough to have known him.
