Verdell Weathersbee was born March 8, 1942, in Stoneham, Texas, to the parentage Aaron Bundadge and Merthea Benson. She attended the Stonham School District, until the family relocated to Fort Worth, Texas, where she graduated from I. M. Terrell  High School.

Verdell accepted Jesus Christ into her life at a very early age.  She met and married Mr. Bennie Weathersbee at the young age of fifteen, in 1957. To this union, two children were born, Ramona and Kevin.

She later met Mr. Albert Wright and was blessed with a child, Nikki. She was employed at Volkswagen of America, where she retired and took a position at Liberty Car Company. After this retirement, she began working for Precious Home Care, until her health began to fail.

She was a very loving person, especially when it came to “her  babies”, her grandchildren. She had a love for spending time with her family and friends as well as cooking for whomever wanted to eat. She lived on Allendale Street for thirty-nine years, becoming the neighborhood mom, grandmother and aunt. She was well respected because she was the street’s neighborhood watch and safe haven.

On April 11, 2018, Verdell Weathersbee transitioned from time into eternity and went home to be at rest. As she arrived, she was greeted by her husband, Bennie Weathersbee and her parents, Aaron Bundadge and Merthea Benson.

Those she now watches over from above are her son, Kevin Hunt; daughters,  Ramona Weathersbee and Nikki Weathersbee; her brothers, Mitchell Benson and Aaron Bundadge; ; special friend, Albert Wright; six grandchildren, Kevin Hunt, II., Chelsea Hunt, Nishana Hunt-Chism, Christopher Blanton and My’Nia Parks;  one great grandchild, Chrislyn Blanton; the 4700 block of Allendale Street and a host of other relatives and friends.
