Hallie Mae Watkins, Aka “Haddie” was the youngest of twelve children born to Fred and Mattie Ervin Broadnax on November 1, 1936 in Seguin, TX.  She completed her high school education at the age of 18 when she met the love of her life, Cammie Lee Watkins Jr., of Mobile, Alabama.  She married Cammie on June 17, 1958, and God blessed their union with five beautiful children.  She enjoyed 26 years of everlasting love, companionship, and marriage until the untimely passing of her husband in May 1984.  Her love never failed, and she remained a virtuous wife for the remainder of her life.

She accepted Christ at an early age, and was saved and sanctified for over 60 years.  Her love for the Lord was ever present in all she did and all she was.  She was an anointed teacher, powerful prayer warrior, church planter and co-laborer, Evangelist, faithful pastor’s wife, and loving mother, grandmother, and friend.  She served as a “First Lady,” and co-laborer to (late) Pastor Cammie L. Watkins, Jr at Greater Friendship Baptist Church, Anchorage, Alaska, Christian Fellowship, San Antonio, TX, and Galilee Baptist Church, San Antonio, TX.   She served in many ministries in the church, including Sunday School, Ministers and Deacon Wives Board, Bible Study, Outreach Ministry, Women’s Ministry, and Marriage Ministry.  After her husband’s passing, she joined Macedonia Baptist Church in 1986 under the leadership of Pastor Jerry W. Dailey.  She continued to serve the Lord in Sunday School, Ministers and Deacon Wives Board, Outreach Ministry, Women’s Ministry, and the Sick and Shut In.  She remained a faithful member of Macedonia Baptist Church, and received watch care under St John, and Restoring Faith Ministries during her time in Arlington, TX.  She was a mighty “Woman of God” until her time here on earth ended on January 31, 2018.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Ronald B. Watkins Sr. (Cathy), Anthony E. Watkins, Christine Watkins Bennett (Michael Bennett), and Lisa Watkins Piece; grandchildren, Ronald B. Watkins, Jr., Shawn Watkins, Caleb Piece, Cameron Piece, and Zion Bennett; seven great grandchildren; sisters, Gussie Tate, Minnie Reddix, Arvis Miller, and Cloma Kimble; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
