A new life came to be on November 25, 1958, when Melvin Dorsey and Doris Barnes Dorsey welcomed their first beautiful daughter, Carla Kay Dorsey, whom they called “Cissy”. She was a joy from the moment she was born, in her parents’ eyes. At an early age, Carla exhibited an independent and high-spirited way about herself. Carla attended Oscar Dean Wyatt High School and later earned her Barber & Bartending licenses.

In her later years, Carla enjoyed her long serving career in the Home Health Industry. Her greater love was spending time with her family and neighborhood friends. Cissy lived her life to the fullest. Cissy was united with the Fort Worth Church of Christ, under the leadership of Brother Alonza Winston, Sr.

Sunday, May 13, 2018, Carla traded her earthly life for her eternal one. She was preceded in death by her father, Melvin Dorsey; sisters, Cynthia “Tina” Dorsey Harris and Cheryl “Baby” Dorsey Clay and her favorite cousin, Karen Ann Dorsey.
