Beatrice Gloria “Gloria” Jones was born on January 2, 1937, to the parentage of Melvin Baker and Ruth Meeks of Fort Worth, Texas. She was the youngest of five and was later blessed with three younger siblings, by way of her father.

“Gloria” was educated by the Fort Worth Independent School District and she was a Majorette at Paul Laurence Dunbar High School. She gave her life to Christ at an early age and remained true until her health begin to fail her. Beatrice was faithful in worship and service to her church, Collins Street Missionary Baptist Church, under the late Pastor A. E. Cleaver.

Beatrice met and married the love of her life, Mr. Bobby Jones, Sr. and the two spent the next 49 years together, until he preceded her transition to Glory in 2005. Together, Bobby and Gloria accomplished many wonderful things, including raising three children, Darwin, Bobby Jones, Jr. and Gloria. They opened and operated successful business, B & B Commercial Cleaning. For many years, they were also in charge of the church’s food bank and she continued to serve needy families after the Bobby’s transition.

“Gloria” was the life of most the family gatherings and hosted many holiday meals at her home. She was a natural care giver and cared for sick family members. She would never leave their side until they were feeling better. She continues these actions, even after she could no longer get around, by sending food and medication when needed.

Beatrice Gloria “Gloria” Jones heard the Master call her name to come and receive her crown. Upon her arrival she was greeted at the gate by her parents, Melvin Baker and Ruth Meeks; her beloved husband, Bobby Jones, Sr. and her brothers, George, J.D. and Clarence.

Among those left to cherish her memories are, her loving children, Bobby, Jr., Gloria and Darwin and spouse Sharon; her siblings, Rose and spouse Larry, Aquila and spouse Theodore, Patrice and spouse Norris and Fabyen; grandchildren, Quincy, Derrick, Quinton, Roderick, Jocelyn and Latesha and a host of other family and friends.
