IN LOVING MEMORY
Mary McKay Lee
Mary, born on October 27, 1957, in Dallas, Texas to the proud parents of Claude and Frances Riles. From an early age, she exhibited a passion for learning and intellectual pursuits. Her love for reading books and solving crossword puzzles demonstrated her curiosity and aptitude for language and problem solving.
She attended Polytechnic High School, where she excelled in multiple areas, earning recognition as Miss Poly and achieving the status of District Rifle shooter within the ROTC program. After completing her education, she initiated her career at Tandy Corporation, where she remained employed for multiple years. She later transitioned to a role at the Tarrant County Tax Office, where she dedicated more than 25 years of service before retirement. Outside of her work life, she was an active member of Fellowship MBC, immersing herself in Sunday school activities as both teacher and student. Her involvement in the church was multifaceted, including participation in the Women’s Ministry and the Angel Tree Program. She also took on leadership responsibilities, overseeing the Arms Giving Ministry and serving as secretary for the usher committee. She also contributed culinary skills to the church’s food service ministry.
Mary’s life took a beautiful turn when she met Gregory Lee, who became her soulmate and lifelong companion. Their union blossomed into a remarkable 39-year marriage filled with love, shared experiences, and unwavering support for one another. Throughout their journey, Mary embraced her role as a devoted wife, cherishing every moment spent with Gregory and nurturing their relationship with care and affection. As a mother of the two, Mary poured her heart into raising her children with love and dedication, and the arrival of her grandchildren brought a new dimension of joy and fulfillment to Mary’s life. She enjoyed spending quality time with them, and the laughter and innocence of her grandchildren became a source of immense happiness for Mary, enriching her later years with a sense of purpose and contentment.
