Shirley Elaine Davis Nelson was born June 15, 1964 in Fort Worth, Texas to the parentage of Edward Davis and DeLois Davis. She was educated in the Fort Worth Independent School District, graduating from Green B. Trimble Technical High School in 1982. She was also a Certified Cosmetologist. Shirley later joined the Fort Worth Independent School District as a Campus Monitor at Accelerated High School, Daggett Middle School, Rosemont Middle School, Leonard Middle School, and Greenbriar Elementary, retiring in 2017 after 28 Years of Service. Shirley always enjoyed the finer things in life with an eye for style and fashion. Some of her best friends were Michael Kors, GUCCI, Casper, Coach, Prada and Dooney & Bourke to name a few.
Shirley previously was a member at Zion Rest Baptist Church and Mt. Sinai Baptist Church. She united with Greater Mt. Tabor Christian Center July 2013 under the Pastorate of Overseer Elvis L. Bowman, Sr. Shirley remained faithful until her health would no longer allow her to attend.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and DeLois Davis, her grandchildren, Mason and Carter Davis, Sister-In Laws, Sandra Davis and Delores Sanders Davis, Brother-in-Law, Larry Mathis, and her grandmother, Myrtle Gholston. Left to cherish her fond memories are: Fiance, Theron Hobbs, Sr., children, Delven Davis (Kim), Latoya Harris (Shaun) and DeJuana Nelson; grandchildren, Devin Harris, Delven Davis, Jr., Zayda Harris, Kiara Davis, Jaylan Harris and A’Nyia Nelson and Reagan Davis; Siblings, Alice Mathis, Lena Burnett, Ada Carpenter (Darrell), Patricia Hau (Burnett) and Edward Davis, Jr.; Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and other Relatives and Friends.
