A pillar in the community, always nurturing and always there for family. Speaking as a friend of one of his sons, she never treated me less than family. Mrs. Mattie Pearl always kept in real in a world full of fallacy and deception. When that front door swung open and you were swept into her kitchen and her favorite tunes played on her radio. Her hip swayed and you instantly knew you were in the presence of a queen that wanted for nothing, you felt safe and loved as food was served and she checked in with her “babies” and made sure we fortified for the world outside. There was no other feeling like it in the world. What I would give to here her laughter,jokes and hips sway to her favorite tunes pleading for you to get “a plate”. This ain’t Goodbye Mrs. Mattie Pearl..but see you later. Have a plate and your favorite record playing when I do. Rip QUEEN 👑👑👑
