On August 13, 1979, a bouncing baby boy was given as a gift from God, to the parentage of Johnnie Steve Gray, Jr. and Gwendolyn Diane Newton Gray. They named their bundle of joy, Johnnie Steve Gray III. He grew to be the apple of his parents’ eye. He grew in ability and stature, and always exhibited a quiet strength. He always had a smile ready for his family, friends, and even strangers.
After satisfying the required courses of study, “Little Johnnie”, as he is affectionately called, graduated from Green B. Trimble Technical High School of Fort Worth, Texas, on May 23, 1997. Soon after, he expressed a desire to perform his civic duty and enlisted into the United States Army, where he served for a short time. Little Johnnie always gave 100% on the job, as the hard worker he was. For the past eighteen years, he was a faithful employee of Allied Electronics, where he was once awarded Operations Employee of The Month.
Little Johnnie loved spending time with his family. His aunts, uncles, cousins and friends have fond memories of his smiling face at countless reunions, family gatherings, and church events. He especially enjoyed cheering for his favorite sports team, the Dallas Cowboys. Johnnie Steve Gray, III. exhibited a life well-lived and will be sorely missed.
After a brief illness, his earthly journey was completed on Thursday, January 25, 2018. Johnnie was preceded in death by his mother, Gwendolyn Diane Gray; grandmother, Dorothy Paige; grandfather, Hover Lee Paige and great-aunt, Olivia Turner.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories: His father, Johnnie Steve Gray Jr.; sister, Stephanie Cellard; brother, Michael Gray and a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members and friends.
