As I thought about what Mr. Jordan meant to me, and the impact he had on my life, I would like to express a portion. When I first met the Jordan’s I was a teenager, in the early stages, I struggled at times trying to figure out when Mr. Jordan was joking and boy did he take advantage of the opportunity. He would get me every time until sister Jordan intervenes, and we all fell out laughing; his statement was, “Oh, you will know when I’m serious,” while still smiling.
One thing you could count on, you always knew where you stood with him, while he was fun and a joy to be around, he kept it real. He and sister Jordan came into our lives at a time that we needed them the most, the background noise was playing loudly and needed to be silenced. Their home was a place in which all background noise ceased, and the fun began, they were a couple that kept you laughing with their interactions.
Of course, while we loved them both, Mr. Jordan made one or two more concessions in our favor at times (LOL). They were like our parents away from home, I appreciate the candid conversations they were both willing and did have with us concerning life itself. While I will never forget his smile, facial expressions, the way he said, “All Carol,” and burst out laughing, at some point in an enjoyable moment. Only he could call your name in a distinct way which no one else could. Of course, there are many memories I could share, but time and space will not allow.
Mr. Donald Ray Jordan was one of a “Kind,” if you did not have the pleasure of meeting him, you missed a treat. I would like to say thank you, sister Jordan, for sharing your husband and friend, to Jeffery, Marcus, Dawnie, and Charity, your, crazy and fun dad with us. My heart goes out to the Jordan family, in which I consider my family as well. Love you, and my prayers are with you all.
