The most sweetest kind-hearted human I’ve ever met. From the first time I met Grandma Dorothy, she welcomed me and treated me as family (I even got a Christmas gift, lol). Will miss her visits to Austin and our quick chats over the phone. To the Speed/Hobbs family and friends, our condolences are with you all. This is a temporarily absence because we will see her again! #absentfromthebodypresentwiththelord
Continued prayers for the family, Dorothy will be missed greatly. Her warm smile and fun loving personality for sure. May God bless and comfort as you go through.
To the Speed and Hobbs Families:
Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted (Matthew 5:4). May God, Our Father, comfort and strengthen you in the days ahead as you mourn the great loss of Mother Dorothy. I have known this virtuous and kind lady all of my life. What a pretty smile, big heart and giving spirit. We are family by marriage (Owens, Echols & Hobbs). I thoroughly enjoyed our family and friend celebrations. You will be greatly missed, your earthly job is done; you lived and served Him well; you loved well and lived long enough to enjoy His blessings. Dorothy Speed, a life well-lived, a rest well-earned. Rest in His arms Queen and greet your loved ones.
My mother, my best friend the woman that taught me to be woman of God with integrity. To always wear a smile no matter what. Flesh of her flesh, bone of her bone we were one. It was an awesome life growing up with my mom with so little age difference. But, it was “A Wonderful Life” Through ups and downs we were there for each other. She consoled and was right there albeit virtual as my husband transitioned just a few months ago. There is nothing or no time that I didn’t have her by my side. Her spirit was so intense that everyone that came in contact with her felt the love of the Lord. Thank you everyone for your words of condolences and to all that loved Mother Speed affectionately named, taken after my grandmother Mama Speed as all of Como, Texas knew her. Thank you Tree of Life for this space to share our love for her.
~Her First-Born
Momma Dorothy. What can I say other than you were the most amazing kind gentle loving soul I have ever met. You took me in all those years ago as your adopted daughter and loved me unconditionally. I’m gonna miss you and hearing your infectious laugh and see your most amazing smile you had. God broke the mold when he made you momma. RIH with all the angels and your Heavenly Father who has welcomed you with open arms.
My condolences to the children of Dorothy. She was a great friend to Veda and I. One of the sweetest people I’ve known. I know she will be greatly missed. We pray for or Father who are in heaven to comfort you as only He can do in the days to come.
Take your rest Momma D. Truly one of the most loving and kind persons I’ve known. Thank you for loving and accepting me as your very own Momma D. You gave so much love and made everyone you knew feel so special. Your kind and loving spirit will truly live on long after your earthly departure. You truly had the gift of spreading Gods love and joy by just being you. Your love, support and shoulder (to lean on) carried me through some challenging moments. I love you soooo much and saying goodbye to you today just broke my heart. I shall always love and remember you Momma D. We thank God that family chains will be linked again someday. Till we meet again.
To the entire family, may God continue to be your strength and comfort!!!
