Mr. Willie Ray Freeman, Sr., also known as “Chili Willie” was born, October 23, 1939, to the parentage of Master Freeman and Norris Williams, in Gonzalez, Texas. He attended the Gonzalez Independent School District, until leaving school in the twelfth grade to help his mother out, who at the time, was a single parent. He drove trucks for Mayflower Trucking and North American Van Lines for years, until retiring, doing the things he loved to do, like being around the people he loved.

 “Chili Willie” was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church for years and was well loved among his church family. He loved tooling around in his gardens and he kept many beautiful flowers and plants. In 1966, he met Alice M. Anderson and the two were engaged. October 4, 1970, the happy new couple gave birth to their only child, Willie Ray Freeman, Jr.

 Mr. Willie Ray “Chili Willie” Freeman, Sr., closed his eyes to this world after seventy-eight years, on April 11, 2018 at 9:47 that night, surrounded by his many loved ones. He was preceded in death by his parents, Master Freeman and Norris Williams.

 He leaves to cherish his precious memories: his son, Willie Ray Freeman, Jr. and spouse Sandra; step-sons, Donald Anderson and Chris Davis; the mother of his son, Alice Davis; his brothers, Mathis Freeman and David Freeman; his sisters, Norris Soders, ZaKia Freeman, Patricia Marshall, Ester Freeman and Bertha Freeman; his grandchildren, Cedric Mack, Destiny Freeman, Liberti Freeman, Darrell and Quintin Howard; and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
